Meet our Veterinarian:
Dr. Coral Turman graduated with honors from the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. She acquired extensive surgical experience through work with the Durham Animal Protection Society in North Carolina while she was in school. She also did extensive research into kidney diseases in dogs and cats and has been awarded several scholarships for her achievements. Because of her impassioned interest in alleviating pain in pets, she devoted extra time during veterinary school to studying with the pain management specialists at the NC State Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Recently, Dr. Turman has undergone advanced veterinary acupuncture training through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. While she continues to offer traditional medical and surgical care for her patients, Dr. Turman wanted to be able to offer more health care options to clients for their canine athletes and for geriatric pets. She works with Sheltie Rescue regularly and is a proud member of the Clay Women in Business Organization. In her (minimal) spare time, Dr. Turman enjoys spending time with her family. She has 3 rambunctious little boys, a large rambunctious boy (aka her husband) and several dogs and cats. She also enjoys her farm pets including several alpacas, goats and a stray rooster she adopted named Frank. When she gets the chance, you may find her off fishing, playing tennis or horse back riding.
